About

I am a Yoga Alliance and Holy Yoga certified 200 H-RYI, RYT from the Land of 10,000 Lakes, Minnesota USA.  I completed my main teacher training through the YogaFit program, and have been practicing yoga for only 5 years.  I’m excited and patient to continue a life of learning, practicing, training, teaching, and sharing, yoga and yogic living, and am continuing my training with Tanya Sowards and Devanadi Yoga.

When I started yoga, I was beginning to struggle with an eating disorder that soon consumed my life.  The disorder consisted of anorexia and extreme over-exercise.  The past 5-6 years have been ups and downs of various places in recovery, but always slowly on the up.  Along with my Savior Jesus Christ, yoga has been a bright and shining beacon in my life.

True altruism is what I’m always reaching for, so letting go of the selfishness (manic-mind-ego) that comes with the addiction to a disorder and the issues associated is the goal.  Yoga has been such a blessing for me because it has become MORE IMPORTANT to me than the eating disorder, which is a major part of recovery.  Various injuries, mostly caused by under nourishing, over training, and over use of a depleted body have plagued me over the past few years, but with every injury comes the blessing of forced rest and learning from mistakes, and every notch that goes into my brain regarding is a reminder of the need for positive change, for living consciously.  I’m currently still in treatment and recovery from the damage caused by my disorder.

Honestly though, and all that “touchy feely positivity” aside, I’m really just another 20 something letting God’s plan unfold for my life.  Rather than seeking peace on my own, I am learning to let go, and let God, and let life happen.  I’m finding this is what brings true peace.

I am self employed as a photographer, focusing on portraiture.  Please visit my website!   I also enjoy and find anxiety release in cooking.  I am constantly studying recipes and trying new things.  I don’t watch TV or movies really.  I love spending time with my nephews Rylan and Mason.  Other than that, I am a homebody, and I just like to keep house and cook, read, do crosswords, blog and write, design and edit images, listen to music and talk radio, and spend time with my husband. I am married; I have a dog and 2 cats.  My family is all close by.  My husband is an amazing person.  I am very blessed.
